work with a COACH

Why work with a Coach?

This is the fastest way to find the breath work practices that work for you. The best approach is not always intuitive, but it becomes clear when we work together.  We use some smart technology called a CapnoTrainer to get started – usually the first month. From there we coach and teach you how to work with the breath without the technology. It’s exciting to see people do so well with this system.

Our Approach

We use a three-phase approach to make sense of all the breath practices out there. The work is guided by data from 7 tests that help determine where to start and how to progress.  The work can be done in a clinical setting or over virtual learning platforms like Zoom. Whether you have breath work back experience or a background is in Yoga, Pilates, running, swimming, cycling, walking, Wim Hoff, Holotropic  or Oxygen Advantage breath work… we get you.

The Coach Process

Getting Started

Request a 30 minute live-conversation with us. We’ll help you decide if this work is feels like a fit. – no charge.

If it feels like a fit, purchase a Starter Package. (includes 4 coaching sessions and a one-month CapnoTrainer rental).

We’ll mail a CapnoTrainer® to you, and off we go.

Weekly Coaching Sessions

The weekly coaching sessions are generally 45-minutes. You’ll be guided through the phased learning approached based on what works and where you want to go. We use capnography technology to monitor the physiological effects of the breath. This objective measure takes the guess work out of breath-work and makes the work very specific to you.

Things You’ll Need

  •  Speaker, microphone, and a camera (we want to see and hear you)
  • Quiet, distraction free, or at least distraction lite environmen
  • A little excitement and curiosity
  • We’ll help with the rest

I was wheezing and feeling tightness in my chest during hard workouts, and I had been told by doctors that I could implement a regimen of inhalers. I was uncomfortable with the diagnosis, and wanted to first try a more holistic approach. That’s what lead me to try David’s breath work program. I am so happy I did. Going through the breath work program has been a game changer for my athletic training and racing. I feel more in control and confident in my running workouts, and I am hitting personal bests in races. There is never one magic bullet with performance, but I now count breathwork as a fundamental component of athletic training, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to improve performance, however that is defined.

Besides the therapy I had on location with Deppeler, I learned breathing techniques I still use every day. As an elite runner, it has been incredibly important. I felt an immediate change in training and noticed daily improvements. This work has also improved my sleep. I am happy to wake up feeling better.

I have enjoyed every moment of engaging my breath in a different way. David is an exceptionally skilled and attentive teacher. I’ve particularly appreciated the combination of knowledge and practice in the sessions, this way, I’m able to take the information and the activities into my daily life. As a lifelong swimmer, I’m excited about the impacts of the breath work on my swimming.

“I was really struggling with my response to stress and some physical issues that were affecting my everyday life. I under the impression the breathing techniques I had used in the past were working in my favor. Within the first ten minutes, I realized there was more to it. Over the next month, I changed my response to stress with exercise and breathing practices. The difference has been astounding.“

“The sessions with BYT and the content provided were amazing. I learn something new with each person that I work with on my health journey, and David may be the most valuable of anyone I’ve worked with in the last 8 years. I am excited at the thought of how much this breath work is going to improve my quality of life and am eager to continue learning/exploring more!.“

“Working with David and Breathe Your Truth completely changed how I approach breathing. I used to be afraid of the ‘air hunger’ and strain I felt while hiking or doing high altitude backpacking. With David’s help, I learned that I was experiencing hyperventilation and that my attempts to overcome it were just making things worse. Through simple yet consistent practice I can now nose breathe when I’m active, slow my breath and adjust my inhale and exhale appropriately to move out of hyperventilation and into productive breathing.  A bonus has been learning to mobilize and strengthen my diaphragm through David’s simple Qi Gong exercises. I’ve only scratched the surface of what I can achieve with this work and I know I’ll keep coming back to it over and over again. Breathwork will be a permanent part of the training program for all of my backpacking trips from now on”

“I approached the information with a bit of skepticism (as I do with most new things) – but the more I did research, as well as the more personal benefit I experienced from the practices, the more enthusiastic I became. I feel like I apply what I’ve learned literally all day, every day.“
