
Amy is a 1995 graduate of Texas Woman’s University where she graduated with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy degree. She became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certified in Astym in 2000 and Functional Dry Needling in 2011. She became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and earned her transitional Doctorate in PT in 2011. She began her personal yoga practice in 2012 and was introduced to the concepts of the Postural Restoration Institute, becoming Postural Restoration Certified in 2016. It was her personal experience in yoga and her addition of PRI principles into her PT practice that helped her understand the power of the breath. She became a BYT certified coach in 2021, completing a mentorship under David Deppeler, PT, DSc, OCS, FAAOMPT. She continues to explore the effect of breath on postural alignment, pain, anxiety, resiliency, and performance. She owned GO Sports Therapy from 2000-2022, and currently sees both orthopedic and breath-related patients at Spooner-Coppell. She enjoys teaching for Astym and is a teaching assistant for EIM Functional Dry Needling Lev 1. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing her own breathing through running, biking, hiking, yoga, and strength training.
